Terms of Service
Article 1 (Purpose)
- These Terms set out the rights, obligations and responsibilities of the Company and users in relation to all services (the “Services”) provided on the website operated by Seoreunnet (the “Company”) at https://www.bukchonhanji.com (the “Site”), including the distribution and sale of hanji products and craft goods, custom cutting services, and reservations for online and offline hanji experiences and workshop programmes.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- “Site” means the virtual place of business set up by the Company using information and communications facilities so that goods or services can be traded and provided to users.
- “User” means a member or non-member who accesses the Site and receives the Services provided by the Company under these Terms.
- “Experience/Workshop Services” means the Company’s reservation service for educational and hands-on programmes such as traditional hanji making, craft making (book covers, bookmarks and the like) and hanji printing.
Article 3 (Membership registration, refusal and account management)
- A user applies for membership by entering their member information on the form set by the Company and agreeing to these Terms.
- The Company may refuse or withhold approval of a membership application in any of the following cases:
- The registered details contain false information, omissions or errors
- The applicant has previously lost membership status (except where the Company has approved re-registration)
- A child under the age of 14 applies without the consent of a legal representative
- The Company otherwise judges that there is a significant technical or operational impediment
- Members are responsible for managing their own ID and password and must not allow a third party to use them. Unless the Company is at fault, the member bears any disadvantage arising from a failure to manage them.
Article 4 (Withdrawal of membership and loss of status)
- A member may request withdrawal from the Company at any time, and the Company processes it without delay.
- Where grounds such as misuse of another person’s information, non-payment of purchase amounts or obstruction of service operation arise, the Company may restrict, suspend or terminate membership status.
Article 5 (Experience safety rules, minors and photography)
- Safety rules: tools such as knives, glue, natural or chemical dyes, irons and heat presses may be used during hanji craft experiences. Users must strictly observe the safety rules given by the on-site instructor, and the Company is not liable for safety incidents caused by a user’s own carelessness or failure to observe those rules.
- Participation by minors: where children and adolescents under the age of 14 take part in an experience, the consent and accompaniment of a guardian is recommended, and the guardian has a duty to ensure the minor observes the safety rules.
- Photography during experiences and use for promotion:
- Photographs or video may be taken during an experience or workshop for the purpose of on-site records and promotion.
- The resulting material may be used on Bukchon Hanji’s official website, social media, promotional brochures and the like. Users may decline to be photographed, either on site or when booking in advance; where a user has declined, the material is not used for promotion.
Article 6 (Cancellation of experience programmes and refund policy)
- Because experience programmes involve preparing raw materials in advance and are run with a limited number of participants, the following refund criteria apply.
| Time of cancellation request | Refund amount |
|---|---|
| 7 days before | 100% refund |
| 3–6 days before | 50% refund |
| 1–2 days before | 20% refund |
| Same day / no-show | No refund |
Article 7 (Services for overseas customers, overseas cards and international delivery)
- The Company supports multilingual guidance (including English) and payment by credit cards issued overseas (PayVerse) for international users.
- For international delivery, customs regulations, duties and delivery charges of each country are in principle borne by the recipient (purchaser), and the user bears the cost of return caused by refusal of customs clearance, an incorrect address or similar.
Article 8 (Exemptions)
- The Company is exempt from liability where it cannot provide the Services because of a natural disaster, war, a pandemic or other comparable force majeure.
- Unless the Company is guilty of intent or gross negligence, it is not liable for loss arising from unavoidable causes such as a strike at a third-party delivery company (courier), delivery delays, communication failures, or server maintenance and replacement.
- The Company is not liable for interruptions to service use caused by reasons attributable to the user.
Addendum
- These Terms and the Privacy Policy take effect on 7 August 2026.
